Larry D. “Wiener” Venner, age 69, of Genoa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 16th, 2017. He was born on October 26th, 1947 to Irene (Veglahn) & Robert Venner in La Crosse. He attended and graduated from De Soto High School in 1965. On December 17th, 1966 he married Margaret “Muggs” Spah at St. James Catholic Church in La Crosse. He was a brick layer for many years until his health declined. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, he also loved playing softball and playing cards. Out of everything he loved spending time with his grandchildren the most.

            He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret “Muggs” Venner; children, Laurie (Gary Day) Widner, Larry (Tera Foellmi) Venner Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Char Venner; Grandchildren, Dani and Dylan Widner, Sophie and Savannah Venner, Elsie, Bayne, and Celia Venner; a sister, Jean Ghelf; a Brother, Robert “Rocky”(Lois) Venner; and a Brother-in-law, Duane Jambois. He is also survived by many other family and friends.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; Son, Richard Venner; son-in-law, Roger Widner Jr.; Sisters, Joan Venner, and Janice Jambois; Brother, Richard Venner, and a brother-in-law, Loren Ghelf. As well as other family and friends.

            A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 20th at 11 a.m. at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa with Fr. Doss officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, October 19th from 4-7 p.m. at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Burial will take place at a later date in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
