Sharon Kay Hanson, age 65 passed away on Saturday evening, March 10th at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. She was born on March 4, 1953 to Raymond and Caroline (Fladhammer) Hanson. She was baptized, confirmed, and a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. She graduated from Viroqua High School in 1972. She had worked at VARC and Borgen’s Café.
While a resident of Vernon Manor she was active in the Vernon Voices Choir and participated in several activities including Bingo, corn husking, and cow chip contests. She particularly enjoyed the music that was provided by many volunteers.
Sharon is survived by her brother, Roger (Andrea) Hanson; nephews, Kyle and Daniel Hanson, Anthony Stalsberg; two nieces, Melinda and Chelse Stalsberg; one grand niece, Kyla Jones, all of Viroqua; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father on April 5, 2008 and her mother on February 5, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua with Pastor Kathy Ingbritsen officiating. Burial will be in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13th.
