Carletta A. Bausch

June 17, 1937 ~ April 22, 2018 (age 80)

Carletta Ada (Burton) Bausch, age 80, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2018 surrounded by her family at the Bland Bekkedahl Center for hospice in Viroqua.  She was born June 17, 1937 in Lancaster WI to Kenneth and Helen (Hildreth) Burton where she spent the first 10 years of childhood, before moving to Cassville.  She attended Cassville High School and was married on February 19, 1955 to her husband of more than 63 years, Wayne Bausch. Carletta, Wayne and family relocated to Viroqua area in 1968, where she spent the rest of her years. She worked in many roles over the years including more than 20 years at Viroqua Area schools lunchroom.  Carletta loved to play cards, Yahtzee, and other games.  Over the years she enjoyed golfing, crocheting, playing accordion and organ, and dancing.  Her 63 years of marriage, family, and friends have been the joy of her life.  She especially loved the energy of younger children. Her family and friends will always remember her for her quick wit and comebacks. 

Carletta is survived by her husband Wayne, four children; Deb (Tony) Wangen of Viroqua,  Jim (Ann) Bausch of Chapin, S.C., Mike (Lisa) Bausch of Viroqua, and Greg (Shelley) Bausch of Scottsdale, AZ., ten grandchildren: Brandon Wangen, Lindsay Bausch, Mandy (James) Prinz, Elissa (Jesse) Yakish, Wesley (Traci) Bausch, Gregory Bausch, Brenna Bausch, Benjamin Bausch, Matthew Bausch, and Megan Bausch. She is further survived by six great grandchildren; Riley, Bailey, Aubrey, Kenzey, Adelyn, and Madison, one brother; John Burton of Lancaster, one sister; Vicki Ackerman of Rockford, Il., other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, seven siblings, and other friends and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial of will take place on Friday, April 27th at 11 a.m. at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Viroqua with Father Michael Klos officiating. Burial will take place in the Viroqua Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 26th from 4-6 p.m. at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
