Jeffrey Roy Grimsled age 54 of rural Ferryville passed away on Sunday, November 13th, 2016 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on August 20, 1962 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua to Arlen and Joanne (Wanberg)Grimsled. He attended De Soto High School and then enlisted in the Wisconsin National Guard Unit in Prairie du Chien. On August 6, 1983 he married Becky Wallace at the Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church. Jeff was employed at Northern Battery in La Crosse for 17 years. Prior to that he worked at Sugar Creek Bible Camp and Webster Hardwoods. Jeff’s favorite pastimes included golfing, hunting, fishing, mowing his lawn, and going junking for his garage collection. He especially enjoyed having friends and family over for the big show.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Becky of 33 years, three daughters; Ashley (Seth) Latua, April (Todd) Komplin, Amber (Jacob) Kaitner, three grandchildren, Hope, Addison, Lucas Jeffrey and an honorary granddaughter, Jenessa Stussy. He is also survived by one sister, Sue Ann (Gary) Allan, three brothers, Joel (Karen) Grimsled, Jan (Lisa) Grimsled, Jon Grimsled, one brother-in-law, LaVern Wallace, two sisters-in-law, Sharon Wallace, Donna (Bob) Whitmarsh, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlen and Joanne Grimsled, his father-in-law, Harold Wallace and his grandparents. Blessed be his memory
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 18th, 206 at the Thorson Funeral Home in Viroqua with Pastor Nile Sandeen officiating. Burial will be in the Freeman Lutheran Church Cemetery at rural Ferryville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 and again on Friday after 10 a.m.
