Philmore “Phil” Converse, age 91, of Ferryville, passed away on February 20th, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. Phil was born November 19th, 1927 to Hugh and Martha Converse in Granton WI. Phil graduated High School in Greenwood WI. Phil and Mary were married July 30th,1960 in Milwaukee. They spent many years building their life together and raising their son. Phil proudly served in the U S Army in 1946. Phil served in World War II in Korea as a Corporal. Phil started the American Legion in Muskego. Phil was a member of the VFW in De Soto. He was had a Lifetime Membership to both the American Legion and VFW. Phil really enjoyed his work at American Motors in Milwaukee and later Chrysler in Kenosha.
Phil is survived by his loving wife Mary and son Gary. Grandfather to Alisha Converse, Michael (Jessica) Converse, Lauren (Brad) Simmons, and Bradley Converse. He is survived by his siblings Bob (Norma) Converse, and Irene Converse. He is preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Martha Converse and brother Fred Converse.
The family would also like to thank Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse for the care, support and compassion. The family would also like to thank Larry and Dawn Brotzman for all their help and support. The family is also thankful to all the friends and neighbors who have been a great support to Phil and Mary over the years.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Freeman Lutheran Church, rural Ferryville, with Pastor Lori Kleppe officiating.
