Lu Ann Beth Medick, age 65, of rural De Soto, reached out her hand to her heavenly Father on January 30, 2020 and was greeted by all of her heavenly family. Lu Ann was born on April 8, 1954 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Her young mother, Dorthy, decided to put her daughter into a special family. Elmer and Irene (Meyer) Miller became parents of that special child. Lu Ann was baptized on July 2, 1955 by Reverend Charles A. Bender of the EUB Church of Ripon. She was confirmed on December 1, 1968 by Reverend Homer Retzlaff from Immanuel United Methodist Church. Lu Ann graduated from Ripon High School in June of 1972. She studied Child Care and Development at Fox Valley Technical School, graduating in June of 1974. Lu Ann enjoyed working with children, gardening, cooking and traveling. On May 27, 1995 Lu Ann became Mrs. Medick. The marriage ceremony for David and Lu Ann was officiated by Reverend Ott at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. David and Lu Ann lived on a farmette near Markesan, close to the Medick family farm. Dave and Lu Ann bought a home in De Soto, Wisconsin, in July of 2017. Lu Ann transferred her employment from Walmart in Beaver Dam to La Crosse and worked there from September of 2017 to November of 2017.
Lu Ann leaves behind her husband Dave of 24 years. Mother Dorthy Blascyz and other family members. Nine great nieces and nephews: Eleanor, Arik, Samuel and Andrew Bower; Nathan, Ashley and Riley Grosslaus; Owen, Garrett Grosslaus; Cousins: Annette (Brian) Peppler, Ripon, WI; Emily, William (Heath Peppler and family; Brett (Melissa) Peppler and family; Kandi West, Oshkosh, WI; Melissa (Joe) Bice and their families. Jeff Bice, Ripon, WI; Eric (Hana) Bice, Mason, Bali, Indonesia. Niki Bice, Madison, WI; Diane (Dennis) Selchow, Ripon, WI; Joy (Greg) Wakefield; Matthew (fiancée Kristin Fosdal) Selchow; Lori (Gary) Hahn, Markesan, WI; Andrew and Cory Hahn, Markesan, WI; Charles Meyer, Ripon, WI; Tom (Tina) Meyer, Lakeland Florida. She was preceded in death by parents Elmer and Irene Miller, Grandparents William and Minnie Meyer, Uncle and Aunts Lawrence and Doris Meyer, George and Evelyn Rassmusion, Ralph and Everdeen Bice, Nephew Todd Holloway. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8th, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the De Soto Lutheran Church with Pastor Lori Kleppe officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
